David Menees studied literature and linguistics, then lectured on English for several years abroad. He has worked for many years as a carpenter. His writing seeks the universal in the particular, the sublime in the real, and the development of human potential. He writes poetry to examine difficult, taboo truths and to celebrate the mystery of existence. He is enrolled in Sewanee’s MFA.
